Thinking about becoming a doula? If you feel called to support families through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and beyond, doula work can be a deeply meaningful and rewarding path. Doulas provide compassionate, informed, non‑medical support that helps families feel confident and cared for during life’s biggest transitions.

Doula work in Canada The doula profession is not regulated. There is no single governing body or mandatory certification, which means training programs and philosophies can vary widely. This gives you the freedom to choose an approach that aligns with your values, goals, and the type of support you want to offer.

We support aspiring doulas in seeking comprehensive, evidence‑based education. Below, you’ll find a curated list of doula schools and training organizations recommended within our community. Programs are available in English and French, online and in‑person.

Doulas Intro Course

This mini course designed to help you explore the profession before committing time and money to a full training program. Created by an experienced doula and educator, this course offers an honest and realistic overview of the world of perinatal support.

Whether you are simply curious, considering a career change, or already passionate about birth and postpartum support, this course will help you better understand the profession and take your first steps with confidence.

This beginner-friendly course includes pre-recorded modules, practical guidance, recommended resources, and insights from real-life doula experience to help you decide whether this path is right for you.
